AI-assisted programming — the way working engineers actually code
One month learning to program with modern AI tools as a force multiplier — prompting, reviewing, debugging, and shipping a small working application.
What this month covers
This course teaches programming fundamentals alongside the AI tools practising engineers now use daily. Students learn Python and version control, and how to direct, review, and correct AI-generated code — then build and deploy a small application that solves a real task.
By the end of the month, a student can…
- CLO1Write, run, and debug Python programs using variables, control flow, functions, data structures, and files.
- CLO2Use Git and GitHub for everyday version control — branch, commit, diff, pull request, and resolve a conflict.
- CLO3Prompt an AI coding assistant precisely, and break a task down so the model can help with each piece.
- CLO4Read AI-generated code critically: spot bugs, security issues, and wrong assumptions, and test before trusting it.
- CLO5Use AI tools to explain unfamiliar code, draft tests, and speed up debugging.
- CLO6Package and deploy a small application, and document how to run it.
How this module advances the whole pathway
A graduate of E4’s three-month engineering pathway can do all six of the outcomes below. This one-month module carries the highlighted ones.
Where this course sits in the bigger picture
E4's Educate value is 'teach people to solve, not to memorise'. AI tools make that literal — the skill is no longer recalling syntax, it is decomposing a problem and judging a solution. This course teaches the judgement.
It is placed last in the pathway on purpose: students have real engineering projects by now, so AI-assisted coding is applied to their own hardware and data, not to toy exercises.
This is also the most direct on-ramp to global, remote-paid work — the Empower value — because it is the skill set a client anywhere in the world can hire from Hunza tomorrow.
Each course is one month. A student’s journey with E4 is 3 months — three one-month modules that hand off to each other and finish on the mechatronic capstone.
